Streaks
How do streaks work?
A streak is the number of days in a row that you've done something with the guitar on Gitaartabs Play. We want it to motivate you, not frustrate you — that's why a busy day can't just break your streak.
What counts toward my streak?
Three things count: finishing a lesson, completing a quiz, or opening and playing a song. It doesn't have to be the same one — as long as you do something that day, it counts. So a few minutes of practice with the Soundslice player is enough too. What happens if I miss a day?
No panic — you get a few cushions:- Today never breaks. You have until midnight to still do something.
- One missed day a week is free. Within any 7-day period you can skip one day without breaking your streak. The counter doesn't count that day, but your streak stays.
- Two days in a row does break it. Or a second gap within those 7 days — then the counter starts over. But: your best streak ever stays put for motivation.
What's the easiest way to extend my streak?
Three quick options: open a song and play along for a bit (often the fastest), do a quiz you've already taken before (as often as you like), or finish one short lesson. A few minutes with the guitar already makes a difference for your streak.Do all quizzes count, including repeats?
Yes. Every quiz attempt counts — even if you already did it yesterday. Your best score is kept, so you don't lose anything by retaking it. Good for your streak and good for cementing what you've learned. Can I get my streak back after a broken day?
Not manually — a streak can't be reset. But your best-ever stays put, and we see a new streak as a great chance to beat it. Just start again and go for a record. Why daily and not weekly?
A daily streak works best for forming a habit — learning guitar goes better in small, often-repeated chunks than one long session a week. Better to do something on four different days than two hours on one day.
